Mirror to the World team runs educational and awareness raising programs in Hungaryfocusing on environmental protection and global solidarity. We founded our team in 2006, members came from the Cellux Art Group and from ZÖFI – the Hungarian Young Greens. Our main target groups are children and young people. We engage in a dialogue with them in order to discover ethical, sustainable and harmonious lifestyles.
Exhibition
The group's special strenghts lie in art and creative expression. Taking advantage of their special skills, we developed the Mirror upon the World Exhibition on Human Nature and Sustainability in 2008.
The central question of the exhibition is: What does a human being need in order to be happy, and how do those needs affect his environment? The answers are expressed in 10 thematic rooms, each of them composed of installations and interactive games. For cerating the materials we took inspiration from the All We Need Exhibiton in Luxembourg, 2007. We took the concept of thematic spaces and developed our own ideas around them. The names of the rooms are: knowledge, survival, choice, creation, identity, relaxation, security, love, dream, and participation.
To gain a first-hand experience about the atmosphere of the exhibition, we recommend you to visit our gallery, and to take a look at the 4-minute videoclip.
With the financial support of Öko-Pack Nonprofit Company, the exhibition is currently on tour in some of the major towns of Hungary.
Mirror upon the World team offers workshops for teenagers between the age of 10 and 18 in various topics.
We hold trainings for high school as well as university teachers. The Mirror upon the World Educational Toolkit consists of 33 interactive games and background materials. Activities in this publication give ideas for multiplicators and for the introduction of global challenges in the classroom.
